Compare / sample decisions
Beanie wholesale comparison matrix
Connect every supplier response to a material, sample and packing reference. A low unit price is useful only after the same product and delivery scope are being compared.
Request comparable factory quotes
| Attribute | Record for each proposed item |
|---|---|
| Composition | Exact fiber percentages and supplier material reference |
| Construction | Rib or plain knit, layers, lining and piece weight |
| Fit | Relaxed width, crown height and cuff depth, with measurement condition |
Approval board
Carry the same reference through four decisions
Reference item
Assign a buyer reference and revision to each beanie construction. Put the colorway, size run and decoration placement beside the supplier's style code. If a supplier suggests an alternate yarn, make it a separate response rather than quietly replacing the requirement.
Tolerance agreement
Define how dimensions will be measured: relaxed or stretched, folded or unfolded, and in cm or in. Ask the supplier to propose a measurable tolerance for review. Do not invent a passing range before the fit requirement and method are agreed.
Sample check
Compare the decorated sample with the artwork proof, cuff location, seams and wearer fit. Record the sample date, style reference and observations. A plain stock sample can answer a construction question but cannot approve a different embroidered production item.
Signed decision
Identify the approver and retain the accepted revision with outstanding questions. Approval should say exactly what was checked. Request renewed review when material, decoration, packing or supplier configuration changes.
| Comparison row | Scope to normalize | Decision if missing |
|---|---|---|
| Unit basis | Pieces, dozens, quantities per color and MOQ | Ask for a complete quantity breakdown |
| Decoration | Proof, setup, embroidery or patch, sample charges | Keep omitted costs open |
| Packaging | Individual pack, pack ratio, cartons and labels | Request carton dimensions and quantities |
| Timing | Sample approval, production assumption, transport scope | Separate target date from confirmed commitment |
| Total cost | Currency, freight, destination charges and exclusions | Do not rank unlike totals as savings |
Premium materials or finer artwork may matter more for a retail collection, while a simple decoration and consolidated pack may suit a budget-led event. The supplier preference expresses that trade-off; it does not verify the supplier's quality. A whole-order budget and a per-piece budget also need different comparisons.
Choose an inquiry configuration →Link the documents; mark the status
Use “requested,” “received,” “reviewed” and “approved by buyer” as distinct states. An item being listed in a catalog is none of these. For material or label questions, request the exact supplier and product reference and keep the limitation visible beside the document.
A sample check does not establish every production piece will match. Inspection scope, acceptance method and responsible party require separate agreement. The procurement brief and workflow show how to raise those questions without assuming a compliance result.
